PRESS RELEASE: MAY 18, 2009

Paintings of the World is a Fine Art Gallery in downtown St. Petersburg that sits comfortably among the elegance of Beach Drive on the waterfront. Paintings of the World has experienced a complete, brilliant renovation, and has thus had a rebirth into the dignified world of fine and investment art.

At current, Paintings of the World proudly presents the masterworks of our featured local artist, Ray Domingo. Domingo's internationally renowned marine-life oil paintings are wildly substantial in both impression and size.

Additionally, the gallery boasts the modern expressionistic works of local artist team Howard Trickey & Michael Norton. Their mammoth, colorful pieces evoke too many emotional human senses to be missed!

Stop by the gallery to see the newly acquired and numerous works' of Ferdie Pacheco - "The Fight Doctor" to Muhammed Ali, or the beautiful fine art bronze sculptures of Miami-based artist Bill Toma.

Paintings of the World is also home to the works of Key West's most recognized and successful photographer - Alan Maltz. Maltz's stunning images of the breathtaking beauty of the natural Florida would make a perfect addition to any local home.

Furthermore, Paintings of the World is the only single location the in the entire Western world that features Croatian Naive Art. These reverse glass oil paintings are a rare commodity that are rich in story, culture, and purity of feeling.

As if all of this weren't enough, Paintings of the World showcases the works of over 45 other local artists in our extensive, choice collection. Too numerous to name individually, we invite you to come on down and admire the unique pieces in our hand-selected collection of local talent!

Private investors' collection pieces that suitably adorn the gallery walls include: Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Peter Max, Peter O'Neill, Christopher Still, Toulouse LaTrec, Alexander Calder, Vadik Suljakov, Vyacheslav Shpak, Valinda DeBeer, Chaim Goldberg, and many more.

Paintings of the World is the new standard for what 'Art Gallery' means in St. Petersburg. We urge you to come down to 400 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg's premier fine art gallery, and experience the magnificence for yourself! We look forward to meeting you. You've got to see it to believe it!

Another exciting view

Croatian Naive Art Moves to 400 Beach Drive NE

Paintings of the World Agrees to Display Reverse Glass Paintings.

Paintings of the World located in the new 400 Beach condominium project in the bottom floor retail section at 400 Beach Drive North East in St. Petersburg, Florida. Art enthusiasts the world over have been coming to St. Pete for the last 2 years in search of this rare art and James Nannen, one of the reverse glass gallery owners, is happy to continue with the continuity of having this art remain in the local area. Mr. Keysock of Paintings of the World maintains that people come into his gallery almost every day looking for the Croatian Gallery and he is proud to be able to display a good selection of the art in his large new venue.

The 400 Beach complex has filled their space during a time in our economy that most would consider challenging at best for developers. To the right of Paintings of the World will be a new 8,000 square foot restaurant scheduled to open in the Spring and operated by the same management as the Parkshore Grille (also located on beach Drive) and the owners of Davis Anthony, also in the Parkshore Plaza retail strip, will open a 7,000 square foot retail "marketplace" to the left of Paintings of the World. It is rumored that a food market, perhaps deli and large gift section will be included in the new Davis Anthony space. They will continue to run the current location after their new space in 400 Beach opens probably in late winter or early spring. The fact that 3 retailers from the Parkshore Plaza location have voted with their new commitments to the 400 Beach project speaks volumes for Beach Drive retailing and downtown retail in St. Petersburg.

With regard to the Croatian Naive Art, former communist suppression has kept this art form a European phenomenon until now. Most Croatian Naive Artists have been painting for 35-40 years and are internationally recognized as having taken this art form to the highest level. Painting with oils on the reverse side of a piece of glass, the artist must sign his signature backwards first so that when you view the finished work from the front it reads properly. Details and foreground are also done before anything else. Once dry, the artist can proceed to the middle ground and when that is completely dry, the background. Every step of the process is the exact reverse from traditional painting on canvas. Painting backwards, in reverse, on the back side of a common pane of glass.

PAINTINGS OF THE WORLD

Presents: Ferdie Pacheco "The Fight Doctor to Muhammad Ali"

Friday June 26, 2009 - 7:00 PM

Ferdie Pacheco was born in Tampa, Florida on December 8, 1927 with deep ancestral roots in Spain. As a painter, his imaginative use of color and design along with his aggressive use of vivid, slashing, colorful patterns exude a sense of strength expressing the bold, gutsy, personal statements of a man who has immersed himself fully in life. Pacheco has the rare ability to transfer these experiences onto canvas through intense color and brushstrokes. His skills earned him the Gold Medal and First Prize in Tonnins, France: the First Prize, Best Colorist at Musee Du Luxembourg.

Dr. Pacheco will present his art at the fine art gallery "Paintings of the World" in Saint Petersburg, Florida. One Night Only! Do not miss this opportunity to shake hands and hear stories from both the art and the boxing world from a legend who is living and has live what mere mortals can only dream about. I have taken the liberty to include the biography of this great man at the bottom for further reading.

His paintings are in the collections of many leading personalities and celebrities such as Andy Garcia, Evander Holyfield, Budd Schulberg, Shirley MacLaine, Ernest Borgnine, Petula Clark, and Dan Duva to name a few.

His painting of Gandhi is going to be a U.S. Postage Stamp October 2009 chosen by the United Nations for International Nonviolence Day.

A documentary on his life Ferdie Pacheco "The World of the Fight Doctor" was shown in two film festivals. Paintings of the World, IT IS WITH AWE AND INSPIRATION, to announce an appearance by "The Fight Doctor" to Muhammad Ali - Dr. Ferdie Pacheco will be made. Dr. Pacheco's presence at this event will be colored with his stories of his love for both the art and boxing world. This is a one night event only. Enjoy complimentary wine, entertainment and the beauty of downtown waterfront St. Petersburg.
